Narrative Preproduction (Treatment/ script)

Title: Lady In the cupboard.

Visual Concept:

A women kept finding food and things missing from her cabinets whenever she came home from work. She kept checking the locks and they all seemed fine. She thought it could be mice or rats but couldn't see any other signs of animals and the food items missing seemed to be too big. She talks with a friend and makes her friend stay at the house while she is gone at work. When her friend was sitting on the couch watching tv she kept hearing the cupboards open and shut. Before you know it the power went off in the house..It freaked her friend out and her friend ran outta the house and never came back. When the girl pulled up in the drive way she saw a shadow in the house thinking it was just her friend but realized her friends car wasn’t in the drive way. She walked in the house slowly and turned on the lights, went to the cabinet to start making dinner and while she opened the cabinet the power went off she grabbed a match and a candle and when she went to light the candle the lady blew it out. Story ends. The lady was living in one of her cupboards for 5 years and coming out everyday to eat his food!

Outline:

[Scene 1] 

The beginning of the film will start out with a women getting ready for work. She will be looking in the mirror applying make up and doing her hair.

[Scene 2] 

There will be a short clip of her locking up the house and getting into her car to head to work.  

[Scene 3]

The next scene will be the women coming home from work starving, she then will open the cupboard and grab the soup she bought yesterday but realizing she has none to make because it was gone. She then will start talking to her self saying how she put the soup in the cupboard yesterday "wonder why its not there". “Did I forget and put it somewhere else? She then searches everywhere and it still no where to be found. 

[Scene 4] 

She decides to make a sandwich.. still pondering on the soup she bought. She then gets thirsty and realizes she bought milk yesterday and goes in the fridge to realize thats not in there either. She then thinks to herself did I leave it at the store. She then calls the store and no its not there. She forgets about it eats and goes to bed.

[Scene 5] 

Next morning she wakes up gets ready for work. She calls a friend and asks them if they will come watch the house while she is at work because she is so worried someone is stealing her food. 

[Scene 6] 

The lady leaves for work. Her friend decides she is going to just relax and turn on a movie. While she is sitting there watching it she heard the cupboard opening and shutting. Which freaked out her friend because when she got up nobody was there. 

[Scene 7]  

Her friend sits back down and before you know it the power went out!! Her friend freaks out and grabs her car keys and leaves. Not telling her friend she left. 

[Scene 8]  

Her friend gets off work and is pulling in the drive way seeing a shadow in the house. She thinks its just her friend but realizes her car isn’t in the drive way like like it was this morning. So she freaks out a little bit while walking up to the house. She opens the door and walks around the house and nobody was there so she locked up the house thinking whoever it was was gone. 

[Scene 9] 

She decides she is going to make something for dinner so she opens up the cupboard to figure out what she is going to make for dinner and right as she opened it up the power goes out! 

[Scene 10] 

She runs to the drawer and grabs a match and a candle. She goes to light the candle and A Women Blows it out. 

[Scene 11] 

Story Ends

Title at the end says :The lady was living in one of her cupboards for 5 years and coming out everyday to eat her food! The lady then leaves her house and comes back the next day and packs up her things and moves away.

This actually happened last Wednesday at work. Her shift started at 7 and my shift started at 5:30.

Kaylee: I don’t know whats going on with her lately. (ugh)

Katana walks in 20 min late..Im sorry my alarm clock never went off.

Danielle: Thats no excuse its been 3 days in a row now.

Betsy: I can’t keep covering your shift I have school right after work. 

Kaylee: I totally won’t be able to cover because I have class right after work.. literally an hour to get to class. 

Danielle: Katana you better not be late again.. This is your job and your held accountable when its your shift. 

Besty: If you can’t make your shift make sure someone else is covering it. 

Kaylee: Seriously anybody here would be willing to take your shift if you can’t make it.

Danielle: Don’t let it happen again ok. 

Katana : Im so sorry (sigh) 

Kaylee: I seriously wouldn’t have a problem taking it if I didn’t have school.

Besty: Same just please try to get here on time next time I hate being late for class.

Katana: Im going to start setting seriously like 3 alarms before bed. So I can be on time. Sorry guys.

Kaylee: Its okay girl everyone has a bad week

Betsy: seriously its all good.

Kaylee: Off to class see you guys tomorrow.

Besty: Bye have a good day at school

Katana: see you tomorrow

Danielle: have a good day see you tomorrow.

Documentary Subject

I feel this would make a great documentary because its based on a IUSB student that loves what she does in the radiology program. I will be asking her questions about her exams at clinical. She is going to be telling me why she loves it so much, and her most favorite part of clinical. I think it would make a great documentary that you would see on tv.

1. whats your name: Abbey Anderson
2. What are you going to school for: Radiology 
3. How long is the program: 22 consecutive months, all summer long no breaks. 
4. How many more years do you have left: A year in 3 months. 
5. Whats a clinical day consist of: Start off by cleaning the exam rooms, checking and stocking the rooms, and then performing the exam on the patient. 
6. whats your favorite part about clinical: Being in the emergency room, because no day is ever the same. Hearing the trauma sirens go off makes me get an adrenaline rush which makes me love it even more.
7. Are you limited to only taking diagnostic exerts: No. Within the two years i will be doing X-ray's, surgery,  ultrasound, ct, mri, interventional radiography, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy. 
8. Which one would you choose to be your favorite diagnostic: My favorite would be radiation therapy, because you get to build a special bond with patients of the course of many weeks or months. Its not like diagnostic X-ray where I spend two minutes with a patient and never see them again, its more than that. 
9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years: As a radiation therapist working at St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. 
10. Do you love what you do: Yes I can see this being a lifetime career.

I chose She will be Loved By: Maroon 5. This is one of my favorite bands. They are more pop/ rock music, this song is based on the idea that this is just a love song about two people. He is completely devoted to her but she won't commit to him. "Because he is so in love with her, she feels he is her safety net in case other relationships don't work. She has little luck in the past with guys, but this guy (singing) knows all about her, and generally likes her for it." The meaning is she will be loved no matter what." The rhythm would be the guitar and the backing vocals. I feel the color, shape, line, tone, light and rhythm stays the same through out the whole song. The moments were the flashbacks in the video of the mom getting abused. This video actually has a sad story line behind it if you really pay attention. I would say there isn't much movement within the camera, it was more flashbacks or in a certain spot where the video was taken in each scene. It definely sticks with the story line in the video, you have to pay attention because its a very hard video to grasp at first.
